SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (Jan. 18, 2018) — Seniors wishing to learn the difference between Medicare and Medicaid, what each pays for and how to qualify, are invited to attend a presentation titled, “Planning for the Future: Medicare vs. Medicaid” Thursday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. at The Summit at Saratoga.

Kym Hance, manager of client care services at Herzog Law Firm, will discuss Medicare A, B, C and D and how to choose the most appropriate Medicare plan for your needs. She will answer questions about the Medicare Part D coverage gap known as the “donut hole.”

“So often, once folks start to need long term care they believe their Medicare or private insurance will cover the needs. In most cases, it won’t, or only on a short term basis,” explained Hance. “We will talk about what qualifies for Medicare long term care services, and in most other cases how to qualify for Medicaid to help absorb the costs of long term care and allow people the choice to age in place.”

Hance, who is a graduate of Barton College in Wilson, N.C. and is certified by the National Association of Certified Care Managers, has dedicated her career to providing services in the aging community and her primary focus is helping seniors age gracefully with their dignity intact. She has worked in all facets of senior living, including skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, home care and, most recently, for the Alzheimer’s Association.

The presentation is free and open to the public. Seating is limited. Reserve your place by calling (518) 430-2136, or emailing This email address is being protected from spambots.
